Meet our Staff
Mrs. Lori Bartholomew
Mrs. Bartholomew received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1980
from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. She taught in the English Department at
Huron Valley Lutheran High School after graduating from college. In 1981 she began teaching
5th grade right here at St. John's Lutheran School with her husband Tod, who became the
principal in 1987. Mrs. Bartholomew coached girl's volleyball, cheerleading, and basketball. In
1989, Mrs. Bartholomew became a stay at home mom for a few years while raising her two sons.
In 1994, Mrs. Bartholomew taught Math and Current Events at Huron Valley Lutheran High
School. From 1996-1999 Mrs. Bartholomew was a substitute teacher in the Wayne/Westland
Public School system at the Junior High level. In 1999, Mrs. Bartholomew returned to teach
grades seven and eight temporarily at St. John's. In 2000, the congregation of St. John's called
Mrs. Bartholomew to teach grades seven and eight and serve as principal and athletic director
of the school.
Mrs Monica Schultz
As a young girl, Mrs. Schultz dreamed of being a teacher. After attending Dr. Martin Luther College in
New Ulm, MN and graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, that
dream came true. She and her husband, Dan, were married that very same year and moved to Georgia.
There Mrs. Schultz taught preschool and kindergarten in the Atlanta area until 1994. In that year she, her
husband, Dan, and their two young children moved to Livonia, MI. The following year Mrs. Schultz
organized a new preschool program at Peace Lutheran. She was director/teacher of that program until
1999. That year, she began working for Livonia Public Schools in their Head Start program and then in a
Special Education Kindergarten classroom. In 2003 Mrs. Schultz accepted the position of Grades 1 & 2
teacher at Peace Lutheran in Livonia. She remained there until 2007. From 2008-2014 Mrs. Schultz took
on the position of nanny for a family in Northville. She has now found her way back to the classroom
where she has always felt comfortable and happy working with children and sharing her faith in Jesus.
Megan E. Zamzow received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 2014
from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota to serve the Lord's Church and was
assigned to St. John's Lutheran Church and School in answer to a divine call to be our 3 & 4 year
old Early Childhood Education Director/Teacher. Miss Zamzow was raised in Appleton,
Wisconsin, She likes to play cards, read, and spend time outside in her spare time. In addition
she loves baseball, football, and hockey. Miss Zambow is eager to ready your child for a love of
education and our Savior. MLC, located in New Ulm, Minnesota, is the College of Ministry for the
Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
